About Us
Umoyo Community Project (UCP), formerly known as Umoyo Orphan Project, was registered as a charity in 2008. The main objective of UCP is to support and empower the community of Njebwa Village, Mzimba District, Northern Malawi. We aim to do this by providing financial support towards locally identified projects. Needless to say, we work in full consultation with the people of Njebwa. They come up with ideas for projects and we discuss with them how that can be best achieved, then we fundraise and pay for them. We always strive to use local labour when available. All our projects are in Njebwa Village, concentrated around the local primary school, Mkama.
